Wildlife Tour in the Pampas 3days/2nights +1nightinRurrenabaque
This tour led by indigenous guideswill delight environmentalists whowill see so many Amazonian birdsand animals in their naturalenvironment, such as caimans,crocodiles, river turtles and thesociable pink Amazonian riverdolphins–who will often playandleap around the boat.
The rivertrips take place at different timeof the day and during the night inorder to follow the differentactivities of the animals. On land,there are guided treks to followthe trails of anacondas and to visitgroups of monkeys in the forestswho are very curious. You cancontribute to the evening mealsand go fishing for piranhas andcatfish too.
Your base camp is avery comfortable eco-lodge on the banks of the river, constructed with local materials withhammocks to relaxand an excellent restaurant which serves delicious meals using fresh localingredients every day.(This tour can be combined with the Rainforest Homestay above)
Day 1: You take a 30-minute flight over the Andes to arrive in the quaint jungle town of Rurrenbaquewhere you will spend the night in a family-run hotel.
Day 2: Leave Rurrenabaque at 08.30 and travel by jeep and boat to“Las Tortugas” Ecolodge–accommodation in lodgesfor lunch. Take a boattrip along Yacuma riverwhere you will see lots ofwildlife (caiman, capybara, turtles and many bird species), stopping to fish, with a greatchance ofcatching piranhas and other native river fishthat you can enjoy for dinner if you wish. After dinner,take a night boat-tourwhen there will be an even greaterchance of seeing nocturnal animals andtheglowing eyes of caiman with flash lights
Day 3:Travel by boat to seethe beautiful pink river dolphins and depending on the season you canswim and play with them in the water. After lunch, go trekking to seeofanteaters, coatis, porcupines,capibaras and other local animals and birds
Day 4: Travel by boat to the swamps to track anacondas (rubber boots provided!) and after lunchreturn to Rurrenabaque by Jeep.
