Activities

Colibri camping and Eco-Lodge is only 30-40 minutes from La Paz using public transport or local taxis but a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is the perfect place to base yourself, to take time to relax, plan your onward travels and enjoy all the nature, community and tranquility that Colibri has to offer.

In line with our values, we want to share with you our love and respect for our community and this beautiful environment that we live in. We offer opportunities for community based tourism, for example horse trekking and quad biking in the nearby valleys; Spanish language courses and traditional Bolivian cooking classes that take place here at Colibri.

You can do beautiful self-guided treks in the nearby mountains or you can join the city-dwellers who flock from La Paz at weekends to enjoy the green areas of Mallasa, to visit the parks with outdoor swimming pools; the Valley of the Moon; Devil’s Tooth Mountain (La Muela del Diablo); La Paz Zoo and to enjoy the plethora of local garden family restaurants serving up traditional Bolivian food.

Over the years thanks to experience, local knowledge and the feedback from our visitors we can recommend a selection of local tours.  We are happy to share our tips and insights into travel in Bolivia and can help you to book excursions, tickets and tours for you to the Salt Flats, the Bolivian Amazon and Lake Titicaca. We are happy to store and take care of your luggage and vehicles whilst you are away.
