Explore the snow peaks near La Paz where you will enjoy views over the peaks and lakes of the Cordillera Real mountain range with the “Cholitas Escaladoras”. As you walk and share meals together you will learn from the women the barriers that they have had to overcome to be recognised as mountaineers and they will share their culture, food and perspectives as indigenous mountain women.
We offer 2 full one day treks to the base of the glaciers Huayna Potosi and Pico Austria and a more challenging trek to reach the summit of Huayna Potosi at 6,088 metres above sea level, this involves camping out on the crampons and ice climbing. No previous climbing experience is necessary.
